Organisation
Within the framework of the Agricultural Orientation Law which imposed the changes of UPRAs into selection bodies, the Salers UPRA gives way to the Salers Evolution Group in 2008.
As parliament of the breed, the Salers Evolution Group brings together all the participants from beginning to end, upstream to downstream, from breeder to consumer. The organisations involved are grouped in 4 areas.
No more confusion between the Salers Herd Book and the Salers UPRA !
The Salers Herd Book is an Association composed of Salers breeders. By joining the Herd Book, breeders and their cattle benefit from membership of an on-going performance recording programme. They also receive support and technical advice from the Herd Book Technicians. These breeders are the coreof the breed’s selection base.
